ARE MYSPACE TYPE SITES SAFE? » Blog Archive » My Opinion about … – As a user of Myspace, I think that it is each individual person’s responsibility to protect themselves when using a site like Myspace. I don’t think that the creators of Myspace should be held responsible when teenage kids are communicating with adults and possible sex offenders. These kids have the option of privatizing their profiles and not accepting people they don’t know as friends.
As Facebook crosses the 200 million member mark this is a very relevant question to revisit. Are social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, Orkut and the rest safe for your children to be members of? And how much access do you give them? Tell us what you think in the comments.
