Lets Be Honest…
How many times have you thought or said, “I’m a terrible parent and I’m going to screw up my kids for the rest of their lives!”? Well, if you think you need to set up a therapy fund instead of a college fund, continue reading.
As I began to question my children’s rationale behind their answer, I started to look at myself through their eyes and not my own. I came to realize how forgiving children are. I don’t believe this forgiveness came by accident. (Nor do I think we should abuse it.) God definitely had a plan when he instilled this superhero ability into our children. He obviously knew that we, as parents, had the power to negatively alter their universe. So God equipped them with the perfect defense system. Through my children’s eyes, I am the best mommy in the whole world because they have the ability to forgive my human mistakes and love me through them.
I also read somewhere that “guilt is an excuse not to change”. So I decided to stop heaving piles of guilt onto myself for being a “terrible parent” and make some changes. I had to learn to accept the forgiveness my children freely gave and continue to strive to be the “good parent” that I wanted to be. I still make many mistakes, but at least now I am confident that I am not going to ruin my kids. I am a good mother, and I can always work towards being the best mommy in the whole world!

You have very wise children, they know the “bestest” mommy when they see her.

Gabriella, you have so much good commonsense, a need to research information and wisdom. When it comes to observing people
their uniqueness, needs, and individualism of each child….They are never to be graded against others in a classroom. They each have gifts that come out at their particular time. Rather than being judged, lazy and not up to their potential.
As they mature and start coming into their OWN.
Parents and teachers need to allow it, not shame them.
